Hydraulic pump usually has a small moment of inertia, it’s better toapply torsional rigid coupling and diesel engine connection, so that thecritical rotation speed is higher than the diesel engine running speed. Thisallows the drive to operate below the critical speed, to avoid dangerousresonance caused by running near the critical speed.
This kind of coupling is usually installed in the housing betweenthe diesel engine and the hydraulic pump or transfer box. Naturally, the temperaturein the housing will be high. The RFH coupling is ideal for this application,even in a fully enclosed housing, because of its excellent high temperaturestability.
